Job Overview

Responsibilities

- Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including vital sign collection, specimen preparation, and point-of-care testing
- Prepare and administer immunizations, injections, and medications under the direction of licensed professionals
- Perform vision testing, including snellen and color assessments
- Coordinate and educate patients on home sleep study equipment and utilize the immunization registry database for data entry and tracking
- Participate in staff meetings for information sharing and continuing education activities
- Perform other duties as required by supervisors, consistent with the purpose of the position and department objectives

Requirements

- One year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a family practice setting
- Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
- Valid Alaska State driver's license and insurability under the Tribe's policy or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Current Medical Assistant Certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or within three months of hire
- Experience with electronic health records preferred
