Job Description:

Country Foods IGA is seeking a friendly and reliable cashier to join our team. As a cashier, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service by helping customers with their purchases and ensuring smooth transactions at the checkout.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers with a friendly attitude and assist them with their purchases.
• Operate the cash register and handle various payment methods (cash, credit, debit, etc.).
• Scan items, process transactions, and provide accurate change when necessary.
• Bag groceries and assist customers with loading their items if needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Answer customer questions and provide information about products, sales, and store policies.
• Report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow all store procedures regarding returns, exchanges, and item scanning accuracy.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience as a cashier or in retail (preferred but not required; training provided).
